Job description:
Gator Construction Group Inc. is a fast-growing general contracting company specializing in concrete infrastructure and restoration, as well as turnkey building projects. We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with 10+ years of proven experience in accurately estimating costs for commercial, industrial, and/or residential construction projects to join our team in New Builds Division in Edmonton.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction methods, excellent analytical skills, and a track record of preparing competitive, high-quality estimates that help secure profitable work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare estimates of costs of material, labour, equipment, and sub-contractors for construction projects based on contracts documents, quotations, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and front-end specifications.
Establish and maintain tender processes.
Assist with the evaluation of sub-contractor pricing & negotiable sub-contract price
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project.
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors.
Prepare construction schedules.
Complete the take-off with the Gator's scope of work in coordination with the Pre-Construction Manager.
Project document management, including preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Coordinate materials and resource planning for all projects.
Report to Project Managers and Directors.
Qualifications and Experience:
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineer, Construction Engineering Technology, or similar equivalent education is required.
