Who We Are



R&M Construction is a specialty general contractor focusing on the restoration of natural waterways in Southern Ontario. Based out of Acton, ON, we have been growing through efficiencies while maintaining a positive culture of creativity and quality. R&M is a small (less than 25 people) family owned and operated business.

What's the Role



We are seeking a Project Estimator to take on the responsibility of reviewing potential projects, estimating and preparing tender packages. This role will involve collaboration and cooperation with the rest of the R&M team as well as interacting with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, engineers, and town staff in a professional manner. The role will also involve working well on your own with minimal oversight on some tasks.

Responsibilities



Perform takeoffs and prepare estimates for your projects Prepare bid packages and tender documents and assist with bid closings Prepare prequalification packages when required Coordinating price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and consultants regarding tenders/bid request Coordinate with clients on requirements, issues, and schedule updates in timely manner Participating in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings when and where required Assemble all project related documentation, ie. locates, notice of project, project specific plans/documentation, etc. Work in a team environment to help each other Adhere to all company policies and procedures Assist in maintaining COR Safety Certification documentation and verify its completion Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications



Ability to read and interpret construction drawings Strong computer and computer software skills, B2W experience an asset Excellent verbal and written communication (email, phone and in person) Exceptional time management skills (firm closing dates and multiple jobs closings) Strong attention to detail Understanding of estimating process Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook Valid drivers license Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and personnel management skills; able to handle multiple priorities Comfortable and competent delegating tasks Thorough attention to detail; able to perform in a high-pressure environment with accuracy Ability to envision win-win strategies

Experience



1 year or more Estimating/General Project Management Experience

What's in it for You



Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm with 30 min. lunch Annual Salary: $80,000+ depending on experience 2 weeks vacation (1 week can be in summer, 1 week anytime) 2 weeks paid time off at Christmas (of this, 3 days are statutory holidays) Eligible for certain performance bonuses
