Construction Coordinator - Markham, Ontario



The Construction Coordinator, reports to the Director of Maintenance and plays a key role in managing construction projects for our multi-residential apartment buildings.

What you will do:

Assist in planning and managing construction projects from assessment to completion, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions under the guidance of the Director of Maintenance. Assess site conditions, prepare tender documents, perform bid analysis and award projects. Coordinate with project consultants, contractors and property managers to ensure seamless execution of construction activities. Conduct periodic on-site inspections to assess conditions, track progress and ensure work adheres to project specifications and schedule. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and contract requirements. Perform all project administrative duties, including change orders, site review reports, and progress payments, while providing regular updates on project schedule, cost, and quality. Support the preparation of quarterly and annual project budget updates. Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot issues encountered by construction, property management, and maintenance staff, as needed. Manage internal documentation, including vendor setup, purchase requests, contract issuance, change orders, invoice approvals, and insurance certificate tracking. Perform administrative and analytical tasks as needed, maintaining diligence, efficiency, and organization in daily activities and reporting. Support additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Who we're looking for:

Diploma in Construction Management required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Engineering Management is considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with project management software (e.g. MS Project) would be considered an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, with solid organizational and multitasking abilities. Effective problem-solving skills.
