Position Summary:



Reporting to the Chief Project Officer, the Pre-Construction Coordinator plays a key role in the early stages of project development. This position is responsible for coordinating the pre-construction process from the initial client contact, estimating and preparing projects for seamless execution by our field teams.

Key Responsibilities

:

Support the Chief Project Officer in all phases of pre-construction planning and coordination. Participate in initial client meetings and assist with proposal development and bid submissions. Coordinate estimating efforts, including collecting subcontractor quotes, assembling takeoffs, and maintaining cost databases. Prepare and manage pre-construction documentation, including scope of work, budgets, project schedules, and risk assessments. Facilitate internal project handoffs by ensuring field crews have accurate, timely, and complete project information. Track the status of permits, drawings, and approvals to ensure readiness for construction start dates. Assist with value engineering exercises and constructability reviews. Maintain organized project files and databases using company systems and software. Help build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. Support continuous process improvement initiatives related to project planning and delivery. Take on progressively expanding roles and responsibilities as the company grows and new project demands emerge.

Qualifications:



Required

2-4 years of experience in a construction, estimating, or project coordination role. Working knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction methods and terminology. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction management software. (Buildertrend an asset) Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multitask and make judgement calls as needed. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes.
Preferred

Experience working with permitting, planning, or pre-construction documentation in British Columbia. Prior experience in a client-facing or sales-support role. Knowledge of construction estimating practices and tools. Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CEC (Construction Estimator Certified), or similar are considered strong assets.

Note: While a pay range is outlined, final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
