Site Wiz Surveys Inc is a fast growing Construction Survey and Consulting business based in Victoria, BC. This role is located in Vancouver, BC.
Key responsibilities
Fieldwork and surveying:
Perform construction layout and stakeout using tools like GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
Conduct topographic and as-built surveys to verify completed work against design specifications.
Measure distances and angles to create maps and determine boundaries.
Manage the flow of information between the field and office.
Quality assurance and control:
Ensure the quality of workmanship meets contractual and project requirements.
Assist with implementing quality control plans and managing any issues found.
Perform quantity tracking and volume analysis.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Data management and reporting:
Record, store, and organize survey data, field notes, and calculations.
Interpret and analyze engineering and shop drawings.
Provide data for progress reporting, scheduling, and quantity tracking.
Generate reports on progress, issues, and rectifications as needed.
Collaboration and support:
Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, and clients.
Assist with technical questions, change orders, and RFIs.
Essential qualifications
Civil 3D proficiency - MoTT CAD standards a plus - 3D models and Drafting.
MoTT experience either with the Ministry or Larger Contractors preferred.
Construction supervision experience preferred.
Expertise in data collection and QA reporting checklists.
Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or Surveying.
Experience with survey equipment like GPS and total stations.
Attention to detail.
Critical thinking and analysis.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
