Are you looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are currently seeking a Coordinator, Training and Quality Assurance to join our Streetcar team!



The Coordinator, Training and Quality Assurance will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and on-going management of the department training program for all staff and unionized employees.

What You Will Do

You will provide day-to-day leadership within the portfolio by developing and maintaining a comprehensive training program that ensures the curriculum remains current and aligned with work requirements, legislation, safety standards, TTC policy, and industry best practices. As the subject matter expert, you will lead all departmental training initiatives and oversee courses offered through internal TTC sources such as the Operations Training Center (OTC), Employee Development, Safety and Environment, as well as external vendors. You will be collaborating with management and supervisory personnel, you will identify training needs, forecast budgets, and ensure curriculum development reflects job functions, legislative requirements, and safety standards.



Your responsibilities include forecasting training demands, coordinating with internal suppliers, delivering training sessions, and preparing printed and electronic materials, including lesson plans, workbooks, and teaching aids. You will assess current and future training needs through research, surveys, and policy reviews, and develop department-level safety programs while managing the rollout of corporate and group initiatives. Additionally, you will implement quality control methods for training, audit courses, coordinate action plans, and publish performance measures related to quality assurance. Acting as the department's Learning Management System (LMS) and SAP coordinator, you will provide guidance on system use, participate in LMS/SAP project teams, and support integration of new learning technologies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

A post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent. A certificate in Adult Education, Teacher/Trainer of Adults or Adult Learning & Development is considered an asset. A certification in occupational health and safety technology or Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) would also be considered an asset. Your application will reveal extensive knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques, as well as monitoring and control methodologies. Ability to forecast the training needs of a large department including potential budgetary requirements. Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) / Learning Centre (SAP) or similar to track, report, create and deliver training sessions, courses or programs within a large staff and unionized environment. Knowledge of the operations and services available through the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. This includes programs that support apprentices, skilled trades and industry training. In addition, knowledge of technical and safety training mandate by this ministry. Strong knowledge of instructional techniques and the ability to effectively deliver a comprehensive range of training programs to diverse groups in classroom ranging in size from small to large groups. Highly developed facilitation, analytical and communication skills to deliver safety training to all employees in the department. Your application will reveal strong problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Must have strong knowledge of personal computers and computerized applications i.e. Microsoft (Excel, Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word). Strong knowledge Crystal reports and experience developing reports; ability to operate and trouble shoot multi-media equipment. Additionally, you must remain up to date on current legislation, including, but not limited to, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety Act, plus various construction and building codes as they relate to training. Must successfully complete Subway/SRT Rule Book certification (including recertification as appropriate).
