WILMAC Construction is seeking a

Construction Accountant

to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys working collaboratively across all levels of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Manage weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labour laws. Track and reconcile manpower hours, job costing, and construction cost coding. Support the Office Manager with accounts payable and general accounting functions. Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) Assist with budget monitoring, cost reporting, and variance analysis. Oversee and ensure compliance with company time-off request and approval process. Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts monthly Assist with budgeting, tax preparation, and year-end audits Generate monthly reports to support management Track labour hours, materials, and equipment by project Assist in WIP (Work-In-Progress) reporting Help refine cost tracking systems and procedures for improved efficiency Support procurement, change order, and billing process with accurate cost coding

Qualifications & Skills

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2-3 years in construction accounting an asset Familiarity with Premier and ADP payroll software an asset. Strong understanding of labour laws, payroll compliance, and confidentiality standards. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
