Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is actively seeking an experienced Constructiability Consultant to assist with the planning, estimating, management and coordination of construction activities for a variety of clients throughout Alberta's Industrial Sector.

The successful candidate will participate in and/or lead the following activities:

  • Liaise with clients, engineers and construction personnel regarding activities concerned with the constructability, design and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Participate in the conceptual development of projects and oversee the organization, scheduling, and execution.
  • Lead and participate in construction planning and progress meetings, responding and adapting to changing conditions
  • Review Drawings, Specifications and conceptual plans
  • Collaborate with the team to acheive project goals and deliver value to clients
  • Regularly review all aspects of project progress, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, construction and safety codes and local laws.
  • Approach all activities with a strong safety mindset.
Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering or equivalent education in a relevant field.

Minimum of 10+ years in Construction Management or related field, focusing on the oil and gas, energy conversion petrochemical, and mining sectors.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills are required.

Experience in building successful client-contractor relationships

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Experience with progress measurement software, scheduling, and 3D model reviews

Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, provincial, and Canadian codes.

Strong commitment to Construction Safety, with a working knowledge of acceptible construction safety standards.

Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Applicable knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging Best Practices
