Fort McMurray - Wood Buffalo (Part Time - Flexible)

Tany Yao, MLA for Fort McMurray - Wood Buffalo

is currently seeking a part time, flexible Constituency Assistant in the Fort McMurray Constituency Office. This is an In-person position involving office administration, casework, research, community outreach and organizing, and serving as a liaison for the MLA with community groups.

General Description:

Ensure that the office is accessible to constituents during office hours

Maintain a clean and organized office

Answers phone, e-mails and correspondence

Monitor community activities and report to the MLA

Maintain and resolve casework files regarding constituents' concerns

Perform outreach to community organizations and non-governmental organizations and individual constituents as directed

Represent the Member at public and community functions when required

Liaise with constituency manager on scheduling and outreach activities

Produce and distribute correspondence, letters, memos and forms

Create, optimize and distribute social media content across all platforms

Integrate modern technologies into office operations

Qualifications and Skills:

Business and/or office management experience is an asset

Above average written and verbal communications skills

Ability to Multi-task and prioritize tasks

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Ability to work independently and as part of a highly motivated team

Familiarity with MS-Windows, MS-Office (Microsoft Word, Excel.)

Well-versed in social media platform management and algorithms

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

Knowledge of government bodies and non-governmental agencies, including Service Alberta, AISH, income support, etc. an asset but not necessary.
