Scope


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Configuration Management Engineer to oversee and maintain the integrity of product configuration throughout its lifecycle in our manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure that all engineering changes, product data, and documentation are accurately controlled, versioned, and accessible, supporting efficient production processes and compliance with industry standards.


Duties and responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. Manage product configuration data, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation. Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date configuration information. Control and document engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and release processes. Maintain configuration baselines and ensure proper version control throughout the product lifecycle. Audit and verify configuration data accuracy and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Support audits and inspections related to configuration management practices. Facilitate communication and documentation of configuration changes across departments. Provide training and guidance to team members on configuration management procedures and tools. Continuously improve configuration management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

A College Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer or another related field. CM2 certification would be considered as an asset but not required. Proven experience in configuration management within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of engineering change processes, BOM management, and document control. Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or ERP systems. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, ASME, or MIL-STD is a plus. Experience with CAD and engineering documentation tools. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
