The Configuration Analyst is responsible for identifying, controlling, recording, reporting, verifying and maintaining the quality of IT configuration items across the ENMAX organization.

The successful candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in a complex, fast paced technology environment, responsible for the creation and maintenance of best-practice IT configuration management processes including the implementation of process procedures, templates and training methods. This role has delegated authority for auditing, identify opportunities for improvement and adherence to processes used throughout the organization at an operational level, to ensure compliance.

Major Responsibilities:

Establish, update and maintain IT Configuration Management process, procedures, and requirements.

Works with IT teams to identify, control, maintain and verify configuration data in the CMDB including relational dependencies/topology of each system, providing essential information in the assessment of change and/or incidents to minimize risk and exposure.

Ensures CMDB data is accurate, consistent and relevant as defined in the Configuration Management Procedure.

Coordinate and execute CMDB governance sessions

Ensure that CMDB topology information is accurate, consistent and reportable for decision making by the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

Establish, update and maintain standard metrics, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and reporting for making key business decisions related to the Configuration Management Procedure.

Gathers relevant stakeholder feedback; conducts research, utilizes communities of practice/user groups and makes process improvement recommendations in the context of the Configuration Management procedure.

Gather requirements and facilitate ongoing Configuration Management Process improvements.

Establish test cases for requested enhancement capabilities.

Provide information, coach and train IT staff in effectively carrying out the Configuration Management roles and procedures.

Report on and escalate process non-compliance of the Configuration Management Process.

Act as the Configuration Management Processes subject matter expert.

Education Required:

University degree in a technical subject such as Management Information Systems or a Technical diploma with equivalent industry experience is essential.

ITIL Certification at the V4 Foundation Level and intermediate courses as appropriate is considered an asset.

Completion of ServiceNow CMDB Fundamentals and ServiceNow Fundamentals is essential.

Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years or more experience managing IT configuration management processes and tools (example ServiceNow) is essential.

4 years of Information Technology Service Management \xe2\x80\x93 related work experience in Incident, Service Request, Problem and Change Management.

Demonstrated experience with an enterprise level configuration management database

Solid understanding of asset and configuration lifecycle management.

Demonstrated knowledge of process mapping, including software and other tools.

Demonstrated technical proficiency and documentation skills.

Solid understanding of service monitoring tools, processes, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s

Solid understanding of Continual Service Improvement practices

Solid understanding of solution delivery frameworks, IT service catalogue, IT Enterprise Architecture and IT operations

Hands-on experience in IT and awareness of business priorities, objectives, business drivers and the role IT plays in enabling the business in meeting their objectives.

Experience working in a complex business model.

Excellent knowledge of ITSM governance processes.

Salary: Analyst, Level C (Current CUPE 2023 rates)

$101,134.12 - $107,462.45 - $113,790.77 - $120,099.25 - $126,427.57

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
