This is a full time (35 hours/week) permanent position with Seven Oaks School Division, effective as mutually agreed.
Under the supervision of the Director - Information Technology, the Computer System Technician provides technical support for computing devices and their local and wide area networks.
Duties:
Provide technical hardware & software support for desktop computers, laptops and other devices, including set up, installation and maintenance on administrative and student workstations.
Maintain and configure peripherals such as printers, scanners, digital cameras, digital video editing equipment, projection devices and other third-party hardware devices in classrooms and labs. Provide technical support for meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Communicate with others using a variety of methods, including an online helpdesk ticketing system as well as through email, telephone, personal and collegial discussions.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 and one (1) year computer technical and/or computer technology course or equivalent to attain knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking.
One to two years previous experience, with demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating systems - Google, Chrome Books, IOS, MS Office, TCP/IP based networks, Cloud based computer and Wireless networks.
Position requires a valid driver's license and a vehicle as work sites are distributed within Seven Oaks School Division. Handheld communication device also required. Technician will receive a monthly allowance as stated in Policy DJDJ - Handheld Wireless Communication Device.
Salary is according to the C.U.P.E. Local 949 Collective Agreement, starting at $31.90 per hour. Comprehensive benefits package.
