Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a Computer Science Tutor, based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is specially for tutoring the course CS 115 - Introduction to Computer Science 1, School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo. The tutor will be responsible for assisting students by providing instruction in computer science and programming concepts, offering academic support in mathematics, and tailoring tutoring sessions to meet individual learning needs. Additional responsibilities include developing lesson plans and fostering effective communication with students to enhance their understanding of subject material.

Qualifications

Programming language: Racket Strong knowledge of Computer Science and Programming concepts, including practical application. Solid foundation in Mathematics to support students in related academic areas. Experience with Tutoring and the ability to adapt instructional methods to various learning styles. Excellent Communication skills to effectively explain complex concepts and engage with students. Proficiency in time management, organization, and lesson planning. Bachelor's degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields is an asset. Previous tutoring experience and familiarity with Canadian academic standards are advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.42-$53.46 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 4 per week
