Due to increasing enrolment, we are seeking an experienced high school teacher to join our team at our private secondary school located in Stouffville, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching our students computer science and communications technology in the Intermediate and Senior divisions. The ability to also teach mathematics or other subjects is an asset, as is experience with Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Candidates with strength in multiple subject areas are preferred.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality education, incorporating technology effectively into all areas of the curriculum.
Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum based on Ontario Ministry and/or College Board expectations.
Foster creativity, curiosity, and innovation by designing engaging learning experiences for students.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities
Maintain open communication with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
Contribute to team meetings, sharing insights and ideas.
Provide safe and respectful classroom environments, following school policies and guidelines.
Assess and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
Participate in school events and activities beyond the classroom.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, OCT preferred
Proven experience as a teacher in your subject areas
Strong knowledge of child development and latest educational theories and practices
Proficiency with educational technology tools
Creative teaching abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills & Competencies
Ability to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity among students
Flexibility to adapt to the unique learning styles of individual students
Commitment to collaborative, team-based work
Ability to integrate technology into the classroom lessons in innovative, effective ways
Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital tools
