HUAWEI Canada Research Center is currently seeking a co-op position for computational storage. This is a great opportunity for successful candidates to be part of an industry leading team to build the next generation of Huawei Storage. You will have the opportunities to work with world's-top researchers and engineers in storage technologies. The role requires individuals to work among our worldwide research centers (Canada, China, etc.). Strong communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

• Research and develop storage indexing algorithms.
• Perform system testing for high availability and reliable storage solutions.
• Develop problem determination solution for root cause identification and resolution on Storage environment.
• Work as part of a small, high performance, and startup-like team mainly using C/C++/Java/Python for development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in algorithms, data structures, database, and transaction processing.
• Good understanding of database fundamentals, such as, transaction management, storage engine, MVCC, recovery, HA.
• Strong knowledge of JAVA, C/C++, and Python.
• Strong research capability and ability to learn new technologies/products quickly.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
• Good analytics skills. Ability to handle complex tasks by assessing issues and breaking down problems to reach an optimal solution.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and have a strong sense of responsibility.
• Enrolled in University Co-op Program

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good understanding of computing technologies, such as, storage, distributed systems, parallel computations, consistency protocols.
• Distributed system research background.
