Description :The Compression Engineer / E.I.T. is responsible for technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to common projects. Day-to-day activities vary depending on the timing and complexity of the project.Key Responsibilities:Working in a team environment and under the guidance of Senior Engineers, the Compression Engineer / E.I.T.:

• Works independently and with teams to support the design and fabrication of compression projects destined for Canada and international markets;
• Provides technical direction and coordination of multi-discipline functions or areas within the project scope encompassing engineering, drafting, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning (as applicable);
• Applications Engineering duties may include:

• Review of customer requests for quotes
• Review of customer specifications
• Sizing and selection of reciprocating compressors, engines and electric motor drivers
• Process design, sizing and selection of PSVs, control valves and instrumentation
• Process and flare simulation and studies
• Specification of piping, vessels, heat exchangers, etc.
• Review and estimating of buy-out equipment
• Preparation of quotes and engineering drawings to support bids

• Project Engineering duties may include:

• Development of engineering drawings (3D models, P&IDs, fabrication prints)
• Collaborate with multidiscipline teams to design and select equipment, instruments and control systems
• Procurement of equipment and instruments
• Liaising with design engineers and manufacturing areas to ensure full compliance with customer specifications
• Providing site assistance during commissioning and start up as required
• Maintains project schedule, working within rigid deadlines & ensuring completion of project tasks on time

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited program;
• Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as an E.I.T. or P.Eng.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines
• Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience, particularly Ariel reciprocating compressors
• Experience with the following software is a definite asset but not a requirement:

• Ariel 7
• Aspen HYSYS
• BR&E ProMax
• Symmetry
