We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and a passion for patient care within a hospital setting.
Duties
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
Assisting with the preparation of compounded medications, including mixing ingredients, weighing, and measuring.
Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), NAPRA guidelines, and other relevant regulations.
Performing quality checks on compounded medications to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions.
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns from patients and healthcare providers.
Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and organizing medications.
Ensure compliance with health regulations and pharmacy policies.
Support the pharmacy team in administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and filing.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care outcomes.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes is essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support.
Certification or training related to pharmacy assistance is a plus but not mandatory.
