Position Scope

Reporting to the BNA Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Component Rebuild Specialist is a hands-on role completing full remanufacturing, rebuilds, and repairs to large mining equipment components.

Schedule is 7x7 (to start shift will be 5x2 for up to 60 days for training purposes)

We have different levels of pay for the Heavy Equipment Component Rebuild Specialist, based on successful candidates qualifications rate will be determined based on experience.

Wage Range - $38.62/hour to $48.27/hour

Incentives Include - paid vacation and holiday pay, boot allowance, pension, benefits

Successful candidates will be required to join the Operating Engineers Local 955.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is properly used and maintained.
  • Practice a safety-first working environment; attend and participate in morning PSI and Weekly safety meetings.
  • Review safe work plans / hazard assessment prior to job commencement.
  • Follow work instructions to perform teardown, clean, inspect, and assembly procedures on the following components: final drives, front wheel assemblies, hydraulic cylinders, and suspension cylinders.
  • Maintain accurate and complete work order and cross-over documentation:
  • Record measurements
  • Identify and assign failure codes
  • Record accurate bill of material lists
  • Move parts by operating overhead cranes, lifts, and carts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge about remanufacturing process, and a general knowledge of mechanical aspects or equivalent work experience.
  • Heavy construction equipment experience is an asset.
  • Leadership or Supervisor role considered an asset.
  • Mechanical Journeyperson Trade ticket is considered an asset (Automotive, Truck & Transport, HET)
  • Forklift operating experience is considered an asset
  • Overhead crane operating experience is considered an asset
  • High school diploma
  • Able to operate forklift, skid steers, small loaders
  • Ability to use and read precision measuring instruments is considered an asset
  • Must have valid class 5 driver\'s license
  • Basic computer literacy/skills
  • Positive Safety attitude
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
