Royal Canadian believes in ongoing transparency and therefore we also provide our investors with monthly updates. The Compliance and Operations Officer is responsible for the complete management and provides support in the development and/or update of existing or new offerings to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations, including offering documents, website, marketing materials, and third-party agreements. The candidate will report directly to the Senior Vice-President and supports the Senior Vice-President on strategic financial initiatives and the financial accountability framework. The Compliance and Operations Manager will play a strategic role in co-ordinating, implementing, and supporting compliance and operations for our growing team. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Perform compliance audits to determine whether established protocols are being followed and/or improved.
  • Provides audit information to management by researching, analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Support the creation of systems to leverage data, technology and tools to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Ensure the highest level of data security and controls, including with all related vendors.
  • Monitor and improve internal controls across the organization to ensure all Internal Audit requirements are met.
  • Ensure timely filing of submissions and renewals with applicable regulators and insurers.
  • Work with lawyers re annual corporate filings, AGM and Offering document updates as required.
  • Promote a team-based and customer-oriented approach to service delivery.
  • Responsible for the orientation and set up of new employees
  • Ensure business processes are well documented and understood by the team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in compliance roles within a regulated financial services firm and exempt market or MFDA is required.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce and or related field.
  • Exposure & Knowledge to OSC & CSA Requirements including: NI45-106, NI31-103.
  • A commitment to collaborate, communicate, and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A passion for data, analytics, and compliance.
  • High standard of excellence, accuracy and consistency, personal integrity, and accountability.
  • Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe skills.
  • Knowledge of Mortgage Investment Corporations, Mortgages, Registered Plans.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution.
  • Expert knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment
  • Strong knowledge of available technology to increase efficiencies
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and planning skills
  • Strong organizational skills to respond promptly and react to issues appropriately within given time constraints;
  • Ability to multi-task and handle competing interests:
  • Team oriented, courteous and professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Financial services/Exempt Market industry background

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year Benefits:
