Under the direction of the QA Corporate Manager the incumbent will coordinate the continuous improvement efforts and programs related to food safety within the bakery. We are looking for someone that maintains a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, including quality specifications and standards, packaging materials, operations, and troubleshooting. This key position requires shift flexibility and ability to travel to four different plants (all located in North York area) during the work week.Duties and Responsibilities Perform production (full cycle) inspections and audits to control and prevent product contamination and to ensure a high level of food safety according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Identify, evaluate, and implement effective actions and initiatives to improve GMP conformity and food contamination risk assessment. Communicate findings to management Provide site technical leadership of the GMP activities, QA, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with current GMPs, HACCP, and other food safety requirements Provide GMP/Quality Assurance expertise on the evaluation of manufacturing processes and procedures and develop improvement recommendations Develop, update, and maintain necessary documentation on GMP matters, including checklists and reports Other job-related duties as requiredQualifications and Requirements Associate's/Bachelors or MA degree in food science, Microbiology, or related discipline Minimum of 2 years of food QA/GMP experience (the bakery is preferable) Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently in a busy environment Ability to multitask and work under pressure Hours of work: Afternoon Shift (3 pm to 11 pm).At Upper Crust, we are committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and accessible environment, where all employees are valued and supported.
