Job Description


The Compliance Lead reports to the Director, Compliance Operations. The role supports the Director in compliance monitoring to ensure organizational compliance with applicable policies and regulations as well as in projects that analyze and define process improvement initiatives, identifying gaps and developing recommendations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform assessment, coordinating with the Global Compliance team when needed, of the applicable compliance designation for new or changed roles within the organization;
  • Administer the mandatory compliance training programs and associated monitoring to enable our key training activities;
  • Execute the monitoring and testing of various compliance activities to demonstrate compliance with the regulatory compliance monitoring program, establish insights, action as needed and prepare meaningful reporting for management;
  • Conduct research, provide analysis and support solutions to meet compliance requirements;
  • Proactively review current practices, analyze and identify potential design and process improvements for the implementation of new compliance tools and processes;
  • Perform ongoing review of compliance tools and monitoring content to promote data accuracy and integrity as a key departmental internal control measure;
  • Manage incoming due diligence requests, perform analysis and reporting to support our investment teams with KYC obligations;
  • Create and/or enhance compliance management process documentation (e.g., compliance procedures, compliance solution requirements, etc.);
  • Work collaboratively with members of the global Compliance team and other colleagues from across the organization to reach strategic objectives; and
  • Serve as a liaison for internal stakeholders to receive relevant feedback and support issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS

Professional:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance or similar functions.
  • University degree or college program graduate in business administration, finance or an analytical discipline such as statistics, mathematics or engineering.
  • Advanced analytical abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Initiative-taker and comfortable working both collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Prior experience working with compliance monitoring programs and process improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately (verbal/written).
  • Demonstrated ability to support strategic objectives and monitor progress using effective controls and success criteria.
  • Strong people skills with an ability to work across multiple teams within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to map and analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement to align with compliance objectives;
  • Able to deal with changing priorities; and
  • Independently prioritizes work and able to accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel with ability to create meaningful reporting with insights;
  • Intermediate level user of SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Asana for workload and project management preferred; and
  • Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization platforms would be an asset.
