Position Description





In collaboration with the Compensation team, HR colleagues and internal clients, the Compensation Analyst will execute operational activities and support the strategic initiatives of the Compensation area within the Human Resources department to ensure The Hospital for Sick Children\'s compensation programs are market-competitive, cost-effective and in compliance with legislative requirements. This role will provide input and support in all areas of Compensation, and support a collaborative team-based approach to broader HR initiatives. Here\'s What You\'ll Get To Do
  • Conduct, gather and analyze market data of other organizations\xc2\xbf compensation plans as well as research current trends to ensure SickKids compensation program is competitive. In collaboration with the team, prepare proposals with recommendations regarding compensation issues and programs based on research and analysis.
  • During the annual increase cycle, work closely with the Compensation and HRMS teams to ensure data integrity, reconciliation and communication throughout the process with internal constituents.
  • Support the ongoing administration of the compensation program. Ensure jobs are set up and/or updated within SickKids HR system (Oracle PeopleSoft HCM) and the Job Code Listing. Set up and update tables, run queries, test and audit the compensation panels on the PeopleSoft system.
  • Design and maintain models to facilitate and cost current/new/enhanced compensation programs. Prepare detailed compensation analytics and models as needed to support both cyclical and ad-hoc project-related deliverables.
  • Support the development of communications to and training for staff, managers and leaders to encourage further education and understanding of compensation principles.
Here\'s What You\'ll Need Essential Requirements
  • Undergraduate Bachelor\'s Degree or HR designation or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in compensation administration and/or program management or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data using Excel or BI tools, identify trends and provide succinct explanations behind the data
  • Knowledge of key compensation concepts including but not limited to job evaluation principles, market benchmarking, salary structure development, and provincial pay equity requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with and present to individuals at all levels, both written and orally
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail in completing tasks, and ability to shift priorities and multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
Assets
  • Experience in a healthcare or similar setting
  • CCP or CHRP designation
  • Experience with HR systems (experience with PeopleSoft is preferred)
  • Experience with benefits or pensions
