We are currently recruiting for a Community Support Worker to assist our female client on the autism spectrum with community engagement and activities in the North Saanich region.

Location:

North Saanich (Landmark Thrifty's)

Shifts and Hours:

12 hours per week Days and start times are flexible between 9am-1pm Start time is flexible

Compensation

$25.00 per hour to start

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

Support Worker will need to plan, execute, and organize all attended activities in the community with support from the agency Program Manager. Constant supervision of individual while out in community due to individuals lack of street safety and awareness. Support Worker will assist individual in maintaining friendships and assistance with making day-to-day decisions. Support workers focus on prompting and encouragement for individual to perform routine tasks. Assisting with cutting food up into smaller pieces and monitoring while eating and consuming fluids. Must be comfortable driving individual around in vehicle to community locations Must be physically fit and able to walk 5-10kms on a flat trail

Required Qualifications:

Community Support Worker experience preferred Current NVCI or Mandt training preferred BC Class 5 driver's license required, drivers abstract and access to a safe, reliable vehicle Calm and outgoing demeanor Must be fully vaccinated Strong communication skills Current First Aid/CPR certification
