We are currently recruiting for a Community Support Worker to assist our male client with FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) in activities of daily living.
He likes playing Pokemon Go as well as most things "Pokemon". He enjoys trips to the mall.
Location:
Delta (near Tsawwassen Mills)
Shifts and Hours:
Two (2) 6 hour shifts per week
flexible on which days
Compensation
$26.75 per hour
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
Support in community to attend activities
peer support
Prompts and encouragement to engage in meaningful activities
Clear directions and firm language when being communicated with
Prompting to eat meals
Assistance with making meaningful connections and friendships
Required Qualifications:
Must be willing to travel by public transit while with individual to various community activities and events
Must be self-directed and work collaboratively with individual and Supervisor to come up with daily activities and find local events to participate in
Community Support Worker experience is a strong asset
Ability to problem solve, de-escalate and re-direct when individual is agitated and to effectively communicate with individual
Individuals with disabilities can be more susceptible to severe symptoms of COVID-19. Candidates may be required to provide proof of vaccination.
