Position Title: Community Response Coach (Excluded Position)



Hours: 35 hours per week



Starting Date: ASAP



Term 12 months



Salary: $33.00 per hour



After 90 days successful completion of the probation period, applicant is eligible for extended health benefits

Community Response Coach

to lead and support a dynamic peer outreach program that promotes wellness, educates, reduces stigma, and provides essential support to individuals impacted by substance use

Key Responsibilities



Work with the Program Coordinator

Develop and implement a training strategy for peer outreach workers

Supervise and support peer outreach staff in their daily operations

Coordinate and participate in mobile and street outreach efforts

Organize and facilitate group programming for individuals with lived/living experience

Plan and deliver community engagement events and educational initiatives

Provide overdose education, awareness, and intervention training to local businesses, schools, churches, or organizations.

Collaborate with service providers and community partners to ensure effective referrals and wraparound support

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field; or a history of working in a related field

Experience working with people who use substances and/or peer-led programming

Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and trauma-informed care

Comfortable with public speaking and group facilitation

Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Willingness to work in community settings with vulnerable populations

Flexibility to work occasional afternoons and early evenings

Assets:



Experience in crisis intervention or overdose response

Knowledge of local services, Indigenous-led supports, and regional resources

Lived/living experience or direct connection to peer-informed work

Additional Requirements:



Successful criminal record screening

Must have reliable transportation

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $33.00 per hour
