COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1 for Highlands

(Part-Time, Permanent, Female Applicant only)

About the position:

McMan's Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit a dedicated CRW 1 to support two (2) females and one (1) male with developmental and physical disabilities, Mental health disorders and some complex behaviours to enrich their quality of life in their homes and communities.

Please note that:

Due to clients needs, the successful candidate must be female.

There is a pet in the home.

The position is designated as secondary staffing to provide additional 1:1 support to persons served within their homes and the community. During periods of downtime in the assigned home, the candidate may be reassigned to another residence within Grand Prairie where additional staffing support is required.

Hours:

Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Total of 24 awake hours every weekend.

Location:

Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What you'll do:

Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.

Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.

Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.

Completion of daily documentation.

Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.

Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.

Participate in on-going program development.

Due to the requirement for behavior management, candidates must be confident in de-escalation techniques and also remain empathetic.

What you bring:

Completion of a High School Diploma.

Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field (relevant equivalencies will be considered).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).

Current Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED.

Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, reliable vehicle and auto insurance

are required

.

Proficiency in basic computer and word processing tasks

Compassion and the ability to assist with personal care.

Ability to assist with lifts and transfers

Ability to assist with G-Tube feeding

Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.
