COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1 Overnight Awake for SSI-3



(1 Full-time Permanent & 1 Part-time Permanent Position Available)



About the position:



McMan Youth, Family and Community Services is seeking compassionate and skilled Community Resource Workers (CRW 1) to join our Specialized Supports for Independence (SSI) program.

In this role, you will support a male adult with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and complex behaviours who has experienced homelessness or institutionalization.

Your focus will be on building trust, promoting daily living skills, fostering community connections, and supporting decision-making that encourages independence and healthy lifestyle choices. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating cognitive and behavioural challenges related to FASD and mental health concerns, while also guiding the individual in managing substance-related risks and maintaining stability in their daily life.

Available Positions:



CRW1 (Full-Time, Permanent):

Monday to Friday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (40 hours/week)

CRW1 (Part-Time, Permanent):

Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (24 hours/week)

What you'll do:



Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.

Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.

Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.

Completion of daily documentation.

Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.

Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.

Participate in ongoing program development.

What you bring:



Completion of a High School Diploma.

Six (6) months of experience working within the Human Services field (relevant equivalencies will be considered). Equivalencies may be considered

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Security Clearance Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (within the last 6 months)

Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED

Valid Class 5 driver's license, driver's abstract, reliable vehicle and auto insurance

are required



Familiarity working with high-risk populations, addictions, complex behaviour, poverty, houselessness and the justice system

Proficiency in basic computer and word processing tasks

Compassion and the ability to assist with personal care.

Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.

Ability to provide strong boundaries and structure for the individuals in a positive manner

Knowledge surrounding interpersonal communication and reading body language

Desire to see individuals succeed.
