We are currently looking for a full time Community Relations Manager(37.5 hours per week)
Create, engage and build a team of volunteers which includes planning and implementing a training strategy for volunteers that will enhance/attract individual competencies and skills
Implement, and preserve established standards and practices including but not limited to: supervision, scheduling and maintaining logged hours of volunteers and the development/update of a volunteer database
Coordinate volunteer communication (newsletters, meetings)
Plan, develop and implement of a wide range of life enrichment programs and services designed to meet citizens\xe2\x80\x99 physical, emotional, and social needs
Establish and maintain positive relationships between St. Andrew\xe2\x80\x99s Centre and its internal and external stakeholders for positive collaboration to meet citizen programming requirements
Plan and organize internal appreciation events in coordination with the internal/external stakeholders (ex: Resident Association)
Prepare, update, and delegate all internal communications related to enrichment functions and special events such as; outlook calendars/schedules, posters, tickets, menus, function binder, function layouts
Coordinate activities with the Resident Association and External Partnerships to assist them with their promotional advertising/materials and room bookings
Coordinate and assist with the planning of special events with other departments for internal and external clients including room bookings and post event clean up as required
Participate and maintain a liaison with applicable agencies, professional associations, and community partnerships where the position\xe2\x80\x99s involvement will further the interests of the Centre
Support marketing and community relations programs/communications, including but not limited to monthly newsletters, trade shows, special events, and seniors\xe2\x80\x99 associations
Research/Generate revenue through fundraising, writing grant applications/proposals, and other partnerships, organize, plan, and attend fundraising initiatives
Manages all grant funding and adheres to the reporting requirements of the funders/grants
Maintain St. Andrew\xe2\x80\x99s Centre\xe2\x80\x99s social media, including permissions, photography, and content writing
Develop and maintain St. Andrew\xe2\x80\x99s Centre\xe2\x80\x99s website
Responsible for all marketing ventures and advertising of St. Andrew\xe2\x80\x99s Centre
Attend and take minutes for the quarterly St. Andrew\xe2\x80\x99s Centre\xe2\x80\x99s Board of Directors meetings
Development of yearly budgets in marketing and wellness programming.
Assist in planning and executing objectives with the required budgets to meet the strategic development of the organization
Supervise the positions of Community Enrichment Coordinator and Housing and Quality Coordinator
Ensure and maintain compliance with standards directed by municipal, provincial, or federal legislation and regulatory agencies such as Alberta Health Services
Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Chief Operating Officer
Degree/diploma in Business Administration, Health Administration/or College diploma in Gerontology, Recreational Therapy, Volunteer Management, or related field. Course or certificate in Change Management
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience and five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a senior leadership role such as management or program administration
Experience working with marketing, advertising, and website design
Two or more years of experience in volunteer programming and leadership in a non-profit or charitable organization
Two or more years of experience with fundraising and fund development in a non-profit or charitable organization
The ability to plan special events such as galas and other fundraising events as well as internal community programs
Demonstrates a proven track record with revenue generation, fund development, and grant writing for charitable causes and/or nonprofit
Demonstrates organizational, communication and strong leadership abilities
Demonstrates a strong understanding of accounting, grant reporting and proposal writing with a knowledge of Canadian tax receipting guidelines
Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff and volunteers
Experience working with seniors
Strong understanding of databases and compiling reports
Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector, Societies Act, PIPA
Ability to convey a vision of the strategic plan to staff, volunteers and donors
Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills
Computer proficiency with MS Office
Enhanced customer care and client management skills combined with strong analytical and organizational abilities
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, sympathetic manner
Must be able to work both independently and with a group
Must be able to work evenings and weekends on occasion
