YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:


Reporting to the Manager of Community Relations in Ontario, you will be part of the Community Relations Department. You will support achieving our departmental objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\'s values, the health and safety code of conduct, environmental well-being as well as our relationships with and commitments to our Partner Indigenous Nations and public stakeholders. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Support operations, projects and exploration on procurement-related aspects associated with community relations and communications, providing consistency in Ontario;
  • Collaborate with internal functions to identify and streamline processes, implement the company\xe2\x80\x99s community relations strategies and procedures and meet compliance expectations of agreements;
  • Support the development and implementation of plans, actions and activities that address needs and risks associated with the business aspects of Community Relations;
  • Proactively identify and communicate to your team any potential risks and potential mitigation options;
  • Document engagement and consultation activities, and maintain records of engagement and consultation through Borealis;
  • Support the implementation of commitments with Partner Indigenous Nations in conformity with internal guidelines, standard operating procedures and key performance indicators;
  • Prepare engagement summaries for participation events;
  • Support the Community Relations grievance management process and timely response to inquiries;
  • Prepare information needed to produce various internal and external reporting requirements;
  • Participate in meetings and events, which requires overnight travel to communities and mine sites;
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including scheduling and logistics, and provide support for community-hosted events;
  • Support Social, Economic and Well Being research, assessments and monitoring activities aligned with commitments, permitting and approvals, community investments, donations, and sponsorships;
  • Provide input towards strategies, standards, agreements and programs that promote positive community relations and advance relationships.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED


  • A university degree in business administration, marketing, social sciences, communications, Indigenous studies, environmental sciences, and/or a related field is required. A graduate-level education in these areas is highly regarded;
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least two (2) years dedicated to working in partnership with Indigenous Nations, showcasing a commitment to economic reconciliation and community engagement;
  • Experience in the mining industry, with a specific focus on partnership development, procurement strategy, and operational efficiencies, is considered a significant asset;
  • A demonstrated deep interest in environmental stewardship, corporate social responsibility, and active citizen participation, aligning with our goals of sustainable and respectful community relations;
  • Possession of a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and the willingness to travel extensively throughout Ontario, engaging with communities and fostering relationships based on trust and mutual respect;
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, acute judgment, and a proven ability to prevent and resolve conflicts, with a focus on achieving equitable outcomes and fostering partnerships;
  • Comfort and effectiveness in working within culturally diverse environments, demonstrating an ability to connect across different interpersonal styles, skills, and motivations;
  • A high level of interpersonal skills is required, with a track record of building strong, transparent, and lasting relationships and partnerships;
  • The ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, strategic thinking, and the capacity to manage projects with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory. Bilingualism, including fluency in French, Cree, Algonquin, and/or Anishinaabe, is highly valued and considered an asset, reflecting our commitment to inclusive communication and engagement;
  • Lived experience or a deep understanding of Indigenous Peoples and the Northern Ontario context is highly valued, enhancing our approach to community engagement and economic reconciliation;
  • Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to travel and stay overnight as required, demonstrating a commitment to engaging directly with communities and partners;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.


Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
  • Workplace: North Bay, Kirkland Lake or Timmins. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an Agnico Eagle office and some days in telecommuting.
