As a Community Recreation Program Coordinator (Community Outreach) at CareHop, you will play a crucial role in developing and running outreach community recreation/fitness programs to improve seniors' health and well-being and incorporating recreation into individualized care plans. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Design and deliver personalized fitness and recreation sessions for seniors at their home, offering activities such as Chair Yoga, Mat Yoga, Meditation, Stretching and Strength, Walk Fit, trivia games & jeopardy and other customized wellness experiences tailored to individual needs and interests Develop one-on-one programming, playlists, and signature elements that allow your unique approach and personality to shine Outreach to the community to drive program/service awareness Know the community, develop it, and connect people to existing resources and programs within their community Motivate, inspire, and build relationships with participants and fellow team members. Working with the care team to develop personalized recreation activities/routines for community clients to help "bring sunshine to their homes." Deliver exceptional customer service. Participate in promotional events, photo & video shoots, and campaigns Administrative or scheduling support, when needed

Qualifications/Requirements

College or above level education & training in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field such as recreation and leisure studies Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) with NCTRC and/or registered through Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) with good standing. Certified to teach Yoga, Fitness, or Physical Trainer Minimum consistent one-year group teaching experience Previous experience in the Geriatric, therapeutic recreation, or rehabilitation field is a strong asset. Background in music/music instruments is an asset. Familiarity with Oakville, Mississauga and surrounding areas Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive, professional, and empathetic attitude Reliable, punctual, organized, and prepared Fluent in English. Speaking another language is an asset
