Community Outreach & Engagement Coordinator

. The primary purpose of this position is to develop an effective and efficient outreach and engagement program to support CIPSRT's mission of helping current and former public safety personnel, their leaders, and their families to maintain and improve their mental health and wellbeing. Thisposition works collaboratively with team members to identify needs, engages in planning, and proposes solutions.



What You'll Do:


Developing outreach and engagement strategies; Coordinating and implementing national outreach and engagement initiatives; Liaising with external partners and sector-specific contacts to raise awareness and expand reach; Developing and managing collaborator relationships and networks, including fostering relationships between CIPSRT and public safety communities across Canada; Raise national awareness of CIPSRT services and resources; Coordinate Canada-wide outreach and engagement initiatives; Mobilize knowledge through community outreach and engagement activities; Monitor, evaluate and report on outcomes of outreach and engagement; Attend relevant conferences and events throughout Canada; Coordinate and plan successful national-level events; Lead multiple, concurrent projects that address needs identified by public safety collaborators; Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse public safety audiences, including frontline personnel, leadership, elected officials, relevant government ministries and other community members; Developing outreach and engagement strategies that lead to the national expansion of stakeholder networks and align with CIPSRT's mission, values and strategic goals; Liaising with external partners and sector-specific contacts to build the public profile of CIPSRT, raising awareness of what we do, and expanding our reach;

Position Requirements

What You'll Bring to this Position:

Completion of an undergraduate degree in a field such as public relations, marketing or human services; 3-5 years of experience in: + Community engagement, including working with multiple organizations
+ Project management, particularly in a fast-paced environment, including strategy and budget development, implementation and evaluation
+ Event coordination, including planning and delivering successful, large-scale events with multiple collaborators and interested parties.
An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered.



Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:


Excellent organizational and planning skills, as well as the ability to track progress and manage scope and resources; Experience planning, scheduling, coordinating, and executing events, including national-level conferences; Superior written and verbal communication skills; Experience preparing and delivering presentations, writing reports, and effectively conveying messages to diverse audiences; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, effectively managing multiple competing priorities, tasks, and meeting deadlines; Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills (written and verbal), including conflict resolution; Active listening skills to effectively understand needs and respond to feedback; Adept at employing critical thinking, and exercising judgement, to solve problems as they arise; Building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse groups; Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders; Superior attention to detail; Education, training or experience in fields related to public safety, mental health, and/or knowledge mobilization is an asset; Experience gained in public or non-profit sectors, particularly in unionized and/or research environments is an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 3 Salary Range $60,280 - $81,376 Status Term Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm.



These positions may involve travel up to 3 times per year to attend conferences or events.
