We are currently looking for a Community Navigator (Francophone) to join our team of committed professionals.This Full-Time Contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Elm Street location in Sudbury.

This position is responsible for improving access to services for Francophone clients and reducing language and cultural barriers that may prevent successful integration and employment outcomes. This position is responsible for the coordination and achievement of program targets and priorities while adhering to the YMCA Continues Improvement Model.

$56,244.02 / Annually

HOURS:

40 Hours Weekly



SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or a related field Valid G class driver's license and access to a vehicle College diploma or University degree in social sciences or related field Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in personal and/or vocational counselling Experience working with marginalized populations, particularly Francophone communities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in French and English) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural competency skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client database systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed. Current and Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop programming to support Francophone clients who face language or system navigation barriers Offer individualized, culturally and linguistically adapted support throughout the path to employment Develop local strategies to attract, welcome and retain French-speaking job seekers Ensure that all tools, communications and resources are accessible in French Assist clients in understanding and accessing employment and settlement services offered by the organization and its partners Provide one-on-one support to Francophone clients to assess needs and connect them with appropriate services (e.g., housing, healthcare, employment, language training, legal aid, etc.) Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources in both French and English Ensure an active offer of French-language services across all programs Align with provincial performance, quality and accountability requirements Track results and achievements and prepare/present reports for the management team Develop and maintain strong relationships with Francophone community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders Advocate for Francophone clients to help them overcome systemic barriers to access due to language or cultural differences
