Description
To provide front-line support to our guests and Community & Family Services team, ensuring smooth service delivery.
- Hours: On-call/ Casual
- Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate guest files and statistical records.
- Assists with the distribution of food hampers.
- Receives and inventories donations.
- Plans prepares, and helps serve hot meals on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- High school diploma
- Some post-secondary certifications are an asset (social work, psychology, etc.)
- Food Safe certification is an asset
- 1-2 years working the public/customer service.
- Some experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Due to the nature of some of the work, a reasonable level of physical fitness and strength is required.
- Strong computer and interpersonal skills are an asset.
- Class 5 driver\'s license
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs (food pick-ups; may have )
- The successful candidate will bring energy and compassion to our space in Smithers; the people we serve will always be treated with dignity and respect.
- In addition, the successful candidate will enjoy engaging with other staff and guests and help create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
- Background check consent.
- Clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean driver\'s abstract.
- FOODSAFE BC Level 1 preferred (training required during first two weeks of employment if successful candidate not already certified)
