This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday daytime hours but may include providing supports outside of the normal working hours.   • 3-5 years full time Direct Support Work & Programming experience.
  • 2- 3 years Leadership and/or Supervisory experience.
  • Disability & Community Support Program (2-year program) or other related post-Secondary education.
  • Completion of diploma or degree in Health Services or Social Service discipline or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs. (Microsoft Office 365 & Email)
  • Ability to function independently, frequently under pressure
Successful candidates are responsible for providing:
  • Valid Manitoba Driver\'s License with Satisfactory Driver\'s Abstract.
  • Use of a safe vehicle for work purposes
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector checked
  • Adult Abuse Registry Check,
  • Child Abuse Registry Check,
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
Preference will be given to those that can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge in any of the following areas: \xc2\xb7 High-risk youth & Behaviours \xc2\xb7 FASD \xc2\xb7 Co-occurring disabilities \xc2\xb7 Vulnerable Persons & Intellectual Disabilities \xc2\xb7 Post Traumatic Stress Disorders \xc2\xb7 CBI (Cognitive Brain Injuries) \xc2\xb7 Aging and disabilities \xc2\xb7 Sexual Exploitation \xc2\xb7 Problematic Substance use \xc2\xb7 Justice Involvement The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing our community residential locations ensuring the overall needs of each location are being maintained according to licensing and legislative standards. The Community Manager will be responsible for developing individualized support plans and overseeing the implementation of those plans in the lives of the people supported. The Community Manager is responsible for managing and developing individualized support plans and implementing and coordinating program plans for participants. Also included is counseling participants, organizing their activities, and working in cooperation with senior staff and others to achieve program and special project goals. The Community Manager seeks opportunities to fill service gaps and provides training for staff on new and existing services. The Community Manager is actively involved in team development, mentoring, or coaching within the organization by attending Team Meetings, promoting positive work environments, facilitating problem solving and providing leadership in the mission, vision and values of the organization.
