As a Community Liaison, you will work with local youth serving organizations, natural supports and schools to create awareness of the services and programs offered by the Youth Employment Centre to recruit new clients to access the services of the Youth Employment Centre. You will work collaboratively with national and local employers to encourage the hiring and retention of youth in their workforce by creating partnerships with these employers to provide Youth Employment Centre clients the opportunity to successfully transition in the workforce. Primary duties include:Initiate, develop and maintain partnerships with employers for the purposes of providing employment opportunities for youth.
Promote career exploration activities with employers including informational interviews and networking opportunities, connecting youth to those opportunities.
Maintain accurate knowledge of the Calgary labour market, employment trends, seasonal requirements, future requirements, and current and upcoming labour market programs.
Ensure that the Youth Employment Centre maintains a strong social media presence using various social media platforms that engage youth customers.
Plan, organize, and implement onsite hiring events and the annual Hiring Fair which attracts 80 employers and 5,000 youth.
Recruit youth candidates for specific employment opportunities with employer partners.
