Annual salary range $91,247.27 - $105,420.79

What\'s this position about?

As a Community Liaison Advisor, you will be a part of the Panel Review team, ensuring YESAB\'s engagement practices are culturally appropriate and effective. This position engages with First Nations, governments, community members, and the public to support their effective participation in YESAB\'s environmental impact assessment process.

The Community Liaison Advisor is responsible for:

  • Providing information and educates YESAB staff and Panel members to uphold the true intent of the Umbrella Final Agreement (UFA).
  • Liaising with First Nations, governments, community members, and the public to ensure the importance, opportunities and impacts of the environmental assessment process are understood, and that the needs of those groups are reflected in YESAB\'s processes.
  • Providing guidance on the development of publications, materials and policies and procedures to ensure YESAB\'s mandate is effectively communicated and reflective of current cultural expectations.
What knowledge, skills and abilities do I need for this role?

Applied knowledge of the Umbrella Final Agreement (UFA), Yukon First Nations and their final agreements, as well as applied knowledge and cultural sensitivity regarding indigenous peoples and their cultures, worldviews, and languages is required for this position.

Experience communicating with Elders, indigenous peoples, and communities in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner will contribute to the success of this position. Experience in culturally appropriate collaborative decision-making processes and multi-worldview dispute resolution techniques would be a strong preference to excel and support the collective YESAB team.
