Job Overview
Lakeshore School Division is looking for a Term Community Learning Co-ordinator to support students in a flexible learning environment at Lundar School. This role involves providing mentorship, guidance, and support to a small group of students in an alternative classroom settling. The position also includes being a liaison between the home and school. If you have experience working with youth and a passion for fostering positive student growth in diverse learning environments, we encourage you to apply.
Qualifications & Skills o Post Secondary education in the social services field. This may include a certificate, diploma, or degree. o Ideally experience working with vulnerable youth (children with physical, cognitive and / or behavior challenges), providing appropriate strategies to support physical, social, behavioural and educational needs of the student o Manage conflict in a calm, assertive and respectful manner o Comfortable supporting teachers in hands-on learning activities o Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle o Training in WEVAS or NVCI (or willingness to obtain) is an asset o Experience with planning and coordinating community events is preferred
SHIFT: 6.5 hours per day
SALARY: Based on education and experience
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
Work Location: In person
