As part of The Squamish Nation's Ts'ixwts'ixwni?tway Member Services Team, you'll bridge justice systems and community care, ensuring our members receive culturally safe support at every stage of their journey. Your advocacy will honor snew?iyelh (teachings) by restoring balance, fostering reintegration, and upholding the dignity of those navigating complex challenges.
What You'll Do
------------------
Develop and implement culturally-rooted justice initiatives for S?wx?wu7mesh Uxwumixw members affected by crime
Provide trauma-informed support including safety planning, court accompaniment, and crisis intervention
Bridge services between justice systems and community through collaboration with CSC, BC Corrections, and police
Offer cultural interventions and healing opportunities for victims of all crime types
Advocate for members during legal processes including family court and police interviews
Maintain program records and reporting while ensuring confidential, respectful service delivery
Conduct outreach in correctional facilities and community settings to support vulnerable members
Coordinate with Squamish Nation departments to align services with community needs
What We're Looking For
--------------------------
Experience in victim services, social work, or justice-related fields
Strong crisis intervention skills with ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy
Knowledge of Indigenous justice systems and challenges facing First Nations communities
Excellent relationship-building skills with justice system partners and community members
Ability to maintain detailed records and prepare program reports
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
Valid BC Driver's License and ability to transport clients
Cultural humility and respect for Sk?wx?wu?7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary:
$75,000 - $112,500 per annum.
