Brampton Caledon Community Living is seeking a Full-Time Community Inclusion Support Worker to support children and youth with an intellectual disability and deemed Medically Fragile and/or Technologically Dependent between the ages of 1 to 17 to participate in a variety of social, recreational, educational activities and to enhance their skills, independence, and inclusion in the community while providing out of home respite support to families.
Position Expectations:

Establish respectful relationships, children and youth who have an intellectual disability, which foster their uniqueness, dignity, rights, and well-being
Demonstrate positive interpersonal communication skills with children and youth, support their families and members of the community
Be aware of community resources, activities, and opportunities that would promote the social inclusion of children and youth supported
Focus on the personal strengths and interests of the child and youth, and be able to plan and implement meaningful community-based activities
Empower children and youth to develop and experience relationships through involvement with social and community groups
Support the child and or youth to access and attend social, recreational, leisure, cultural and educational community-based activities
Provide a fun and exciting learning environment where children and youth can grow socially
Qualifications:
DSW, SSW, ECE-Advanced Studies in Special Needs, related diploma/degree or must be working toward the completion of the final year of post-secondary education
Ability to relate to children and youth with an intellectual disability and their families. Sound understanding of legislation and policy governing the developmental services sector as well as best practices and quality assurance and/or continuous improvement practices or processes
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to express and present oneself in a professional manner; sound decision-making skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to think creatively.
Self-motivated and flexible
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to the goals and vision of Brampton Caledon Community Living; knowledge of SRV and Personal Outcome Measures an asset
Must Have:
Valid driver's license Class G and a reliable car
Clean Current Driver's Abstract
Current Standard First Aid/CPR; CPI is an asset
Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Fluency in French is an asset
Proficiency in Computer skills
Must have 1-2 years of related experience
