Rate of Pay: $36.84 per hour; increments as per Collective Agreement

JOB SUMMARY

:

Oversees all day to day operations of the day program(s) including individual support, planning, training and activities, staff recruitment, staff supervision, participation in the 'on call' procedures, program evaluation, budgeting and professional and community liaison; develop appropriate opportunities for clients within the community and develop and maintain positive rapport with families, support networks and the community in general.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Diploma in a related human service field and three years experience working with people with a developmental disability including one year experience in a supervisory role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Sound working knowledge of day programs for persons with a developmental disability and strong community living values. Experience in individual planning and promoting home and community involvement. Demonstrated ability and commitment to working effectively with a diverse population. Valid First Aid/CPR and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification or Mandt System Training. Class 4 restricted BC Driver's License. Reliable personal vehicle with business insurance and $3,000,000 third-party legal liability insurance required. Working knowledge of MS Office; familiarity with an electronic case management system is preferred. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position, on site, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
