We are currently looking for a solution-oriented, enthusiastic Community Engagement Co-op Student to join our team and support our community relations efforts.
What you'll do:
We'll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include : • Event Logistics and Administrative Support:
• Support the logistical planning for community events, including booking venues, coordinating catering, preparing materials, and managing registrations.
• Assist in handling correspondence related to community events and engagement activities.
• Help manage the intake and approval process for community investment requests.
• Provide administrative support for the company's community investment programs, ensuring timely processing and communications.
• Assist in tracking the progress of community investment initiatives and report updates to the team.
• Event Management Support :
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community engagement events, including public consultations, stakeholder meetings, and community outreach activities.
• Help ensure all event logistics are handled efficiently, including scheduling, communication with stakeholders, and preparing event materials.
• Provide on-the-ground support during events to ensure they run smoothly.
• Tracking and Reporting :
• Help track stakeholder engagement activities and community event participation.
• Update and maintain engagement tracking dashboards to monitor progress and outcomes.
• Assist in compiling event feedback and engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Support :
• Assist in creating engagement materials such as presentations, reports, and newsletters for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the team in tracking stakeholder interactions and ensuring effective follow-up.
• Contribute to the development and execution of engagement strategies and communication plans for key initiatives.
• Safety Compliance :
• Assume responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Who you are: • Currently working toward a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in event planning, or an interest in pursuing event management as a career.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) is an asset.
• A keen interest in community engagement and public relations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to track and report on various initiatives.
• Familiarity with project management or event planning tools (e.g., Asana, Eventbrite) is an asset.
