Position Available: Manager of Community Engagement and Development



Job Type: Permanent, Full Time - 40 hours per week



Location: 615 Industrial Drive Fort Erie, Ontario



Overview:



Community Living - Fort Erie is a non-profit organization with over 65 years of experience providing advocacy for, and support to, individuals who have intellectual challenges, and their families.

Reporting to the Executive Director- The person in this position is to lead the organization's efforts in community engagement and development by identifying and implementing innovative revenue streams, including grant writing, fundraising, and donor cultivation. This role is also responsible for managing and expanding a volunteer program that enhances the experiences of both volunteers and those supported by the organization. In addition, the position ensures organizational visibility and impact through strategic communication, marketing, and public relations efforts. By promoting the organization's mission and values, the Manager of Community Engagement and Development will strengthen community connections and foster positive relationships that support the agency's growth and sustainability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:



Plan and execute public awareness campaigns, including events, promotional materials, and media engagement, to raise awareness of the agency's mission and programs. Represent the organization at external meetings, events, and community groups to promote inclusion and services. Develop and implement engagement strategies to build and sustain long-term relationships with stakeholders. Develop and distribute informational content such as newsletters, pamphlets, and advertisements to encourage public participation. Serve as the agency's public spokesperson, presenting to diverse audiences and advocating for the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities. Leverage digital tools and platforms for effective communication, data management, and reporting. Research, acquire, and manage grants and bursaries from various funding sources, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with donors, and maintain accurate records of donations. Monitor and evaluate the use of grants to ensure proper allocation and impactful outcomes. Oversee the recruitment, orientation, training, and retention of volunteers to support organizational programs and goals. Match volunteers with appropriate roles, assess their performance, and foster a meaningful volunteer experience. Coordinate volunteer activities and ensure alignment with community project goals. Provide leadership in program development, goal setting, and strategic planning to support the organization's objectives. Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment and work closely with the Management Team to ensure cohesive service delivery. Inspire and manage teams, addressing performance challenges and celebrating successes. Design programs that respect and reflect the diversity of the populations served, ensuring cultural competence in all initiatives. Build partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance inclusion and advocacy efforts. Manage multiple priorities and projects effectively, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. Analyze challenges, identify innovative solutions, and develop programs that align with the agency's mission and community needs. Maintain awareness of social, economic, and cultural factors affecting individuals with developmental disabilities. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.

Preferred Qualifications



This knowledge and training is normally acquired through:

A Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, Marketing or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Community Development, Public Relations, Marketing or related fields, with a preference for experience within the Non-Profit or Developmental Services Sector. Certifications in Community Engagement, Project Management Professional (PMP), Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Marketing Professional (CMP) is considered a valuable asset. Certification in Volunteer Services is an asset. Certifications or training in Grant Writing and Proposal Development are beneficial. Proven ability to manage social media platforms.
The successful candidate must have a reliable car and is required to travel.

Pay: $33.00-$38.00 per hour
