Overview

The Community Director is responsible for leading operations and strategic initiatives to ensure financial performance, exceptional Resident Member experience, and sustainable growth for Central Parc Laval. This role requires strong leadership, advanced negotiation skills, financial and budgeting expertise, and the ability to thrive in an upscale environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the operations team to achieve financial targets for the region. Optimize resource allocation, staffing, and facility requirements to maximize efficiency. Monitor budgets, cost per door, and prepare financial reports as required. Apply strong financial acumen to manage budgets and control costs effectively. Develop long-term strategies based on market trends and regional needs. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges in the rental market; implement proactive measures such as rent reviews. Inspect potential properties for acquisition and assess growth opportunities. Negotiate effectively with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to secure favourable terms and outcomes. Lead and motivate the regional team, set priorities, and oversee day-to-day operations. Define clear objectives and performance expectations for Area Coordinators and reporting leaders. Conduct site visits to evaluate leaders, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Review staffing needs, evaluate performance, and manage disciplinary actions or terminations as required. Oversee wage reviews and ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate weekly with various departments to ensure the highest levels of quality, service, task execution, and adherence to deadlines according to company standards and priorities. Review capital projects and establish site priorities for improvements. Monitor reports on vacancy, collections, and site operations; ensure timely legal processes for rent collection. Ensure efficient inventory management. Respond promptly to inquiries from Associates, Resident Members, legal representatives, and government agencies. Attend community events, industry meetings, and panel discussions to enhance Boardwalk's profile and foster collaboration within the property management sector.

Qualifications

Education: Post-secondary degree required; C.P.M. or R.P.A. designation preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, ideally in property management or a related field. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn and adapt to evolving technology; familiarity with Boardwalk operational applications. Knowledge: Applicable legislation (e.g., Residential Tenancies Act); strong financial and budgeting knowledge.
