The

Community Animator

will be responsible for

increasing social participation and engagement for low-resourced and/or isolated seniors through Asset Based Community Development (ABCD)

. They will facilitate supporting the health and well-being of seniors by collaborating with other community programs and resources to

empower seniors to contribute to their communities by connecting them with resources

.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE



Experience recruiting and engaging community members; coordinating and facilitating events Post-secondary education and/or lived experience in a well-being related field, such as community development, education, recreation therapy, social work, nursing or occupational therapy Provide Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Community Development experience Proficient communication and collaboration skills Vehicle required; valid Class 5 driver's license and $2 million liability insurance Experience working with older adults and volunteers is an asset Have a clear understanding of inclusive, anti-oppressive practice
This position is a

permanent part-time

(20 hours/week) career opportunity. The starting salary range is between $24.72 - $30.55/hr plus

100%

Employer paid Health & Dental plan and 5% matched Pension plan.

Salary considerations are based on assessment of the successful candidate's education, skills, previous experience and other factors.
