Reporting to the Dept. Head of Continuing Studies, the Community Campus Planner (CCP) is responsible for assisting, supporting, or leading in the coordination of programs, services and operations at the community campus level. This is accomplished by working directly with other campus and university staff, community, and the First Nation to provide support and services to community campus learners and may include the planning and implementation of workplace certificate training, general interest, or cultural / land-based programming.
This position will work with the First Nation to enhance the student experience, be an ambassador of the University in community events, job fairs, industry, and related events. Internally the successful candidate will work with university staff to support the Strategic and Academic Plan with best practices of student experience and support in mind. This position is headquartered in Ross River and primarily builds relationship with Ross River Dena Council.
We are looking for outgoing applicants who enjoy working in a dynamic student-centered environment that is responsive and nimble to needs and opportunities and will go the distance to support a learner if required. You will also have connection to community or can develop it in a substantive manner.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate, combined with some experience in coordinating events or programming that has created an environment supportive for First Nation and other learners, is comfortable with land-based activities that support FN heritage and sovereignty, and is enthusiastic about the building the role of the university in the community and rural Yukon. Those with demonstrated related skills and competencies (eg as acquired by working in FN or Yukon government or other bureaucracy) and strong community connection will also be considered.

A First Aid certificate is to be completed, as is proof of a valid Yukon driver\'s license, within 6 months of hire.
