We are looking to hire a full-time Communicative Disorders Assistant.
The successful applicant will be seeing clients in our office on the Hamilton Mountain or in-home/at school as clients' needs require. The CDA must be fun, creative, organized, confident, professional and passionate about working with children and teens.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and group therapy to clients under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
Work with clients and families from different backgrounds and specialized populations
Write timely and accurate progress notes
Develop therapy materials for use with individual clients
Set up and program AAC devices
Collaborate and consult with S-LP and other practitioners as required
General office duties as assigned
Support with promotional events
Utilize research information to support evidence-based practice
Experience and Qualifications
Communication Disorders Assistant Diploma (required)
2 years of experience working with children (required)
Experience working with neurodiverse children (required)
Member of CDAAC (preferred but not required)
Professional liability insurance (required)
Valid driver's licence in Ontario and access to a reliable vehicle (required)
Professional communication skills with colleagues, clients and their families
Accepting of respectful feedback to improve clinical practice
Understanding and lived practice of inclusivity
Fluency in another language is considered an asset
Social media design experience is an asset
Compensation
$25-35/hour
