Position Summary





The Mosaic PCN Communications Team is listening to our physician members, our employees, and our community. We are continuously finding ways to weave together the needs and ideas of these audiences with the collaborative design and delivery of our Mosaic PCN services to best support and improve the health of the community around us.



The Communications Specialist strategically positions Mosaic PCN (MPCN) with key stakeholders through developing, managing, and continuously improving our digital channels. This includes sharing our corporate narrative and supporting the communications needs of our stakeholders in an evolving and exciting environment.



The Communications Specialist possesses matured professional knowledge in designing, writing, editing, and publishing relevant and engaging content that offers value to Mosaic patients, the community, physicians, and employees while supporting the organizational strategy and priorities. This position also provides guidance, mentorship and support to the Communications and Marketing Coordinators and reports to the Director, Communications, Change & Culture.


Key Responsibilities





The Communications Specialist is a skilled storyteller who is adept at crafting engaging digital narratives, including patient stories, and conveying the support that Mosaic offers the community through various internal and external digital channels.



Strategic Planning & Budgeting


Recommend and guide the creation, execution, and evaluation of MPCN's social media strategy. Identify emerging issues and opportunities and recommend appropriate digital communications approaches to advise and support business units and leaders across the organization. Create and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines related to digital communications. Assists in managing the budget within the scope of work to ensure alignment with the department budget alongside the Director, Communications, Change & Culture. Creates strategic communications plans for new/large-scale organizational project involving a significant digital platform component and manages the ongoing delivery of the plan while working closely with other internal stakeholders to determine content.

External & Internal Communications


Write and edit engaging digital content for stakeholders through the use of dynamic media (such as photos, videos and graphics) in collaboration with other members of the communications team. Ensure all digital content is consistent with the MPCN brand, direction, and strategy of the larger communications portfolio through regular auditing. Collaborate with MPCN portfolios to provide digital communications and marketing expertise, as well as timely updates to external facing information as required (Google business, website program and services, etc.) Manage website content, functionality, and graphics, including coordination with vendors as required. Develop, monitor, and grow MPCN brand awareness through digital platforms, including social media, website, physician portal, and intranet.

Mentorship


Prove day-to-day guidance, support and mentorship to the Communication and Marketing Coordinators for use of and updates to digital platforms. Engage employees through digital channel communications, ensuring consistent messaging and brand reputation. Represent and act on behalf of MPCN on the Calgary Zone Communication Committee and work collaboratively with other Calgary Zone communicators in the creation and implementation of zone-wide projects. Represent and act on behalf of MPCN on the Calgary Zone Social Media task group. Maintain alignment with Alberta Health as the funding body for Primary Care Networks as well as the newly formed Primary Care Organization.

Data Monitoring and Evaluation


Use of analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of social media, intranet, employee email, website and physician portal regularly as agreed to with the Director, Communications, Change & Culture. Develop reporting dashboards for use by the Mosaic leadership team in collaboration with the Director, Communications, Change & Culture, and evaluation team. Work to enhance day-to-day performance, functionality, and usability of all digital platforms, with considerations for inclusivity and usability by the Mosaic patient population. Use of Google Analytics and Google Business to monitor and report on public sentiment and patient experience. Collaborate with the patient relations department to share patient feedback through agreed-upon processes.

Qualifications & Requirements





Education & Experience


Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism plus two (2) years of communications and marketing experience demonstrating past success in developing and executing strategic communications plans or relevant Diploma plus four (4) years of experience. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally and ability to adjust content to remain consistent with brand, direction, and strategy. Proven experience in creating, implementing and monitoring the success of digital campaigns.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


Proficient in the use of digital communications/marketing tools and platforms including WordPress, Hootsuite, SharePoint, Facebook, LinkedIn and others. Ability to diplomatically ask questions, challenge and suggest alternative strategies and approaches. Ability to monitor benchmarks for measuring the impact of communications tactics and campaigns. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Working Conditions




Occasional evening and weekend hours required. Ability to travel on public transportation or valid driver's license with access to own car in good repair is required.
