  • Provide Strategic Guidance: Offer expert communications advice to both corporate and enterprise-wide teams, ensuring alignment with broader goals.
  • Lead Strategy Development: Develop and implement communications strategies and campaigns for corporate and enterprise initiatives.
  • Ensure Clarity and Consistency: Make sure all communications are clear, consistent, and accessible, while reflecting Peel's diverse and inclusive workforce.
What the role requires:
  • A university degree or college diploma in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of five to seven years of communication experience in corporate communications, or a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Thorough knowledge of communication principles
  • Experience with developing and implementing multifaceted communication campaigns
  • Experience with issues management
  • Strong knowledge of media relations principles and experience working with media especially with crisis or emergency management
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms
  • Knowledge of AODA requirements in relation to communications
  • Access to a vehicle is required
Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience with consultative and advisory skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation or public speaking skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

Work Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency and location of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
