The Communications Officer owns the full spectrum of marketing and communications for our Canadian operations. You will combine creative design, persuasive copywriting, digital strategy, and hands-on event management to tell our story, build brand awareness, and support sales growth. This role is both strategic and highly practical - ideal for a self-starter who can plan campaigns and also jump in to execute them.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Materials & Branding
Design branded materials such as product brochures, one-pagers, signage, retail displays, field signs, and digital assets
Ensure all marketing & communications align with brand guidelines and company values
Develop and maintain client testimonials, success stories, and case studies
Event Management & Promotion
Plan and execute internal and external events - including grower meetings, trade shows, field days, and company trips
Oversee full logistics: venue selection, hotels, travel, catering, promo items, set-up and take-down, and onsite support when required
Promote upcoming events through digital campaigns and printed materials
Programs & Campaigns
Support Business Unit Managers in creating and executing retail sales programs and campaigns
Administer the Retail Co-op Marketing Program: track funds, ensure co-branding guidelines are followed
Manage the ATC Points Program (community sponsorship, territory events, promo budgets)
Operations & Team Management
Order and manage inventory of marketing and promotional supplies (banners, signage, clothing, giveaways)
Manage vendors and maintain strong relationships with internal staff
Provide one-on-one leadership and guidance to part time and summer student marketing employees
Digital & Content Management
Maintain and update the company website, ensuring accurate and current product information
Plan, create, and manage blog posts, videos, and other web content
Write and edit clear, compelling copy for brochures, campaigns, news, and social media that reflects our brand voice
Collaborate with subject-matter experts to transform technical information into engaging stories for diverse audiences
Develop and manage social media content, monitor engagement, and respond to inquiries
Draft, design, and distribute the monthly internal newsletter
Capture and edit photos and videos for events, products, and marketing use
The right person:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field - or equivalent experience
5+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, preferably in agriculture or B2B sectors
Proven ability to design marketing collateral (Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills with proven copywriting experience across digital and print channels
Experience management websites, Content Management System (CMS) platforms, and social media accounts
Event management expertise, from planning to onsite execution
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
Hands on attitude - ready to "own" projects from concept to completion
Comfortable in a fast past environment with shifting priorities
Collaborative, approachable, and confident advising
Creative thinker who is also detail-oriented and organized
Work Environment:
Work location is flexible within the prairies
We are remote based company, allowing you to conduct administrative work from the comfort of your home. Although we are remote first, we are always able to collaborate and help each other out through different channels
Up to 25% travel and overnight travel as required
Ability to purchase business related items to conduct business and expense weekly for reimbursement
