ADAM - Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba is looking to fill a Communications Coordinator role. This is a part-time position averaging 20 to 30 hours a week. This position will be at the helm of creating communication for the public to increase awareness of anxiety disorders. Communication will take place through various avenues including but not limited to workshops, seminars, social media, press releases and media. ADAM provides public education through activities such as Media Campaigns, Informational Brochures and pamphlets, presentations/workshops to a wide variety of public audiences In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to requests received for public education sessions or displays
  • Suggesting and researching new audiences and developing new presentations to specific audiences
  • Researching and developing pubic workshops, in collaboration with mental health professionals and/or other mental health organizations
  • Preparing and delivering presentations
  • Scheduling/manage appropriate support/speaker/volunteer
  • Schedule volunteers for speaking engagements, workshops, public information sessions and displays
  • Proactively contribute to a team-oriented working environment that is inclusive of volunteers and staff
  • Deliver public information sessions as required
  • Schedule speakers for public information sessions
  • Be present to greet speakers and volunteers and provide support/trouble-shoot as needed
  • Manage room set up/equipment/handout materials
  • Attend public information sessions to fill in information gaps, observe presenters and provide feedback and coaching
  • Be available after public information sessions to speak and interact with potential participants and help with distributing intake forms as necessary
  • Assist with preparation of informational and promotional items
  • Social Media and website management
  • Organizing events for Mental Health Awareness Week
Experience and comfort with speaking in public to a wide range of audiences, and developing, updating, and delivering public presentations and organizing educational events. Experience creating and updating program materials, including PowerPoint presentations, Social Media knowledge & skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate, mentor and support volunteers to deliver presentations. Evening and Weekend hours may be required. Lived experience with anxiety and experience in provision of peer support. Job Type: Part-time Salary: From $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 \xe2\x80\x93 31 per week Schedule:
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
